Stumped Over Chapter 1
I am seriously having trouble on how to set out chapter 1. I wrote prologue but now I have to introduce the main character Stephenie Hamilton. I don't really want to delve too much into her family because they are based on my family.
I really love my family, but I don't want to add them into the story because they play enough of a role in real life. The main character is me.
The beginning of chapter 1 goes like this:
On the 1st of January 2004, Stephenie Hamilton, 12 years old, goes to sleep and in her dream she meets a vampire named Vancent (van-sent). This vampire was able to sense her hidden spiritual power which gets unsealed when he tries to get near her in the dream.
She awakens to find the vampire in her home. Irena and the others do show up to save her.
Now as i was writing a quick draft for this chapter today, I read through it and noticed even though it is a quick draft, I was bored after reading it. Now if I find it boring to read, the reader too will pick up on it and find it boring.
Now I can't add too many details right off the bat.
Questions people will ask are:
- Why does Stephenie have spiritual powers?
- How did I.G.O track down Vancent?
- Why is Vancent after Stephenie's powers?
